Kirsten Barrett picked up the Sun Belt Conference's final Offensive Player and Setter of the Week honors for the 2025 regular season on Tuesday, announced by the league.
Reagan Barth registered the sixth-most kills in a match in Sun Belt history, and also the sixth-most in a 5-set match in NCAA Division I this year, with her 37 kills against Louisiana on Friday/ The 37 kills were also one off of the Georgia Southern school record, set in 2001. For the week, Barth hit .355 with 48 kills (6.00 kills/set) and 25 digs (3.13 digs/set) and she moved into 5th place all-time at Georgia Southern in kills, moving past Lauren McClain (1,144) and now sitting with 1,155 career kills. She led all Sun Belt players this week in kills per set and points per set (6.56) and finished the regular season with 16 straight matches of double digit kills, all Sun Belt matches.
This is the third career Sun Belt weekly honor and second of this season for Barth.
Kirsten Barrett, meanwhile, earned her seventh weekly Setter of the Week honor for notching 83 assists (10.38 assists/set) and 34 digs (4.25 digs/set) while adding four kills, three aces and two blocks in this week's two matches against Louisiana to close out the regular season. She tied her season high with 54 assists on Friday and added 20 digs, her third 20+ dig match of the year. Her 83 assists and 10.38 assist/set numbers were tops among all Sun Belt players this week and she passed the 1,000 assist mark in a single season for a second straight year and moved into sixth place on the Georgia Southern all-time assist chart, passing Kat Minnerly (2,789) with her 2,821 career tallies. Barrett is also the first Eagle with back-to-back 1,000+ assist seasons since Minnerly did so in 2013 & 2014.
Georgia Southern will open up action in the 2025 Sun Belt Conference Tournament on Friday, facing South Alabama in the final game of the quarterfinals in Foley, Ala., at 8 p.m. ET.
