NEW ORLEANS, La. - Graduate guard Spudd Webb was named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week on Tuesday afternoon, after helping guide the Eagles to a 2-0 record. Webb became the first Sun Belt Player of the Week recipient for Georgia Southern since Tyren Moore was selected on March 4, 2024.

On Tuesday in Fort Myers, Florida, Webb tallied 17 points in 32 minutes of action, including shooting 5-for-6 from the field and 1-for-2 from beyond the arc. The Hartwell, Georgia, native added four rebounds, six assists, one block, and one steal in the Eagles' winning effort on the road.

He followed up that performance with his second 20-point contest of the season, scoring 20 points against Johnson C. Smith in Statesboro. Finishing the first half with four points, Webb went 6-for-6 from the field in the second half, scoring 16 points and finishing the game with a 6-for-7 line from the free-throw line. He added three rebounds, six assists for the second consecutive game, one block, and swiped five steals.Â

For the week, Webb scored 37 points on 75 percent shooting, grabbed seven rebounds, 12 assists, two blocks, and six steals. He leads the Eagles in minutes (120), field goals made (26), field goal percentage (.634), free throws made (23), free throw percentage (.885), points (78), points per game (19.5), assists (15), and steals (10).
