Georgia Southern loses just three seniors to graduation - Carley Borgelt, Bri Conley and Erin Wilkins
BOONE, N.C. - App State's Ellie Garrison tallied the match's only goal in the 33rd minute to give the host Mountaineers a 1-0 victory over visiting Georgia Southern on Wednesday evening in the regular season finale for both teams.
Georgia Southern ends the 2025 season with a 2-10-6 mark, including an 0-5-5 mark in Sun Belt play. App State ends its season at 7-7-3 and 3-4-3 in the Sun Belt.
Garrison's score came on a pass from Reagan Sturgill, who sent a ball to the top of the box from the midfield. Garrison headed the ball to herself and her shot beat Georgia Southern goalkeeper Quinn Wilson right.
The Eagles enjoyed a 19-11 edge in shots in the match as both goalkeepers - Wilson for the Eagles and Hanna Skogsfors for the Mountaineers - made five saves on the night. App State held a 10-2 edge in corner kicks and Georgia Southern was whistled for six fouls and one offsides, compared to four fouls and one offsides for the Mountaineers.
Georgia Southern loses three seniors to graduation - forward Bri Conley, midfielder Carley Borgelt and defender Erin Wilkins - and returns 23 players for the Fall 2026 campaign.
