BLUFFTON, S.C. – Georgia Southern women's cross country turned in its strongest performance of the season early Saturday morning, capturing first place at the
Sand Shark Invitational behind a flurry of career-best times.
The Eagles dominated the front of the pack, placing five runners in the top 10 and 11 inside the top 50. Elizabeth Stamey led the way with a career-best 18:30.2 to finish third overall, closely followed by Lauren Voutour in fourth (18:32.4) and Tristen Crosby in fifth (18:38.0), marking a career-best for Crosby and Voutour.
Julia Wilson (18:38.3) and Hannah Douglas (18:45.3) rounded out the top 10 in sixth and eighth place, respectively—both running personal bests. Katie Casto also notched a top-10 finish, placing 10th with a career-best 18:51.7.
Meg Anderson (19:18.5), Gabi Westfall (19:39.6), Rylan Holmquist (19:40.3), Rebecca Stratton (19:55.4), Millie Lovett (20:38.3) and Ava Schmitt (21:24.8) each contributed strong performances, with all posting career-best times at Georgia Southern.Â
Every Eagle either matched or improved upon their best time of the season, marking a milestone day for the squad. The dominant effort secured Georgia Southern's first team victory of the 2025 campaign.
