STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern men's golf team will open up its fall slate on Monday, battling Mercer in the Bash in the Boro being played at Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro.

The two teams will compete in a match-play style event, starting with five, two-man team matches starting at 7:30 a.m. Following the completion of the four-ball session, 10 singles matches in match play will begin. The winner of each match earns a point for his team with a tie earning both squads a half point. The team with the highest total at the end of the 15 matches will be declared the winner.

All 10 Georgia Southern golfers are scheduled to participate. The pairings are listed below.

The Eagles return six players from last year's squad and welcome four newcomers, including three freshmen.

Monday's event is open to the general public.
