Emma Davis Earns Second-Team All-Sun Belt Softball Honors

Davis earns honor in back-to-back seasons
STATESBORO – Georgia Southern sophomore outfielder Emma Davis earned second-team All-Sun Belt honors as announced today by the league officials. The honor marks the second of her career after earning a spot on the second team last season as a freshman.
Davis was one of three outfielders named to the team batting a team-high .390 with 62 hits, five doubles, 19 RBI, and 15 stolen bases. The Grayson, Ga. native collected 21 multi-hit games and five multi-RBI games on the season. She held a 10 game hitting streak and ended the regular season on a six game hitting streak.
The sophomore led the team in batting average, runs scored, hits, walks, at-bats, stolen bases, total bases, and has started all 50 games batting leadoff and in centerfield. The team leading .390 batting average currently ranks seventh in program history.
Georgia Southern is set to face tenth-seeded Marshall on Wednesday, May 8 at the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in San Marcos, Texas. First pitch is set for 8 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
