HARRISONBURG, Va. - The Georgia Southern baseball team takes on the James Madison Dukes for a three-game Sun Belt Conference series starting on Friday, April 19. First pitch from Eagle Field at Veteran's Memorial Park is set for 6 p.m. Friday evening.
Georgia Southern comes into the contest with a 19-17 record, 9-6 and tied for second in conference, playing for the first time this week. A game at Kennesaw State was previously scheduled for Wednesday night, but Mother Nature prevented the game from taking place, sending the Eagles up I-75 early. JMU is 21-15 on the season, 7-8 in conference and sits tied for seventh place with ODU, most recently falling in midweek action to the VMI Keydets, 10-9.
Georgia Southern is 13-5 all-time against the Dukes, most recently taking a regular season-ending series against the Dukes last season at J.I. Clements Stadium. All of the previous 18 match-ups occurred in Statesboro, meaning this will be the first time in program history that the Eagles and Dukes will be meeting in Harrisonburg.
Georgia Southern debuts a slightly-reconfigured rotation, with RHP
Thomas Higgins still in the Friday night spot, but LHP
Ty Fisher moving up a day to the Saturday spot. JMU has announced its full weekend rotation of RHP Ryan Murphy on Friday, LHP Donovan Burke on Saturday, and RHP Casey Smith on Sunday.
