
Jaguars Claim Series over Eagles on Sunday

Eagles set for midweek action on Wednesday
MOBILE, Ala. – Georgia Southern (21-18, 5-10 SBC) dropped a heartbreaker 2-1 against South Alabama (23-15, 9-6 SBC) in game three of the series on Sunday afternoon at Jaguar Field.
For the second consecutive game, the Eagles struck first to get out to an early 1-0 lead in the third. With two outs, Emma Davis doubled down the left field line before Katie Perkins drove in Davis on an RBI single up the middle.
South Alabama evened the score in the fourth after back-to-back walks put runners on, an Eagle error plated the run to make it 1-1.
Georgia Southern looked to take the lead in the fifth loading the bases but a flyout to left field ended the scoring threat.
In the bottom of the seventh, the Jaguars walked it off with a solo homer to secure the victory and take the series two games to one.
Bailey Holland (5-7) suffered the loss tossing 2.2 innings allowing one run on three hits with one strikeout. Starting pitcher Morgan Kendrick pitched 3.2 innings surrendering one unearned run on one hit and added a strikeout.
The offense was led by Barth and Perkins going 2-for-4 and Davis recorded a hit in the contest.

The Eagles return to field traveling to Mercer for a midweek matchup on Wednesday, April 17. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. and is set to be broadcast on ESPN+.
