GS will play five games over the weekend
STATESBORO – The Georgia Southern softball team returns home to host the Hail Southern Classic against Buffalo and Winthrop at Beautiful Eagle Field. The Eagles will play five games over the weekend opening against Buffalo at 3:30 pm and wrapping up play Sunday at 9 a.m.

Georgia Southern enters the tournament with a 12-6 record after going 2-3 last weekend at the USF Softball Tournament with wins against Central Michigan and USF on Friday before dropping its final three games of the tournament against Louisville, Villanova, and Florida Gulf Coast.
Emma Davis led the Eagle offense batting .500 on the weekend including seven hits, three runs batted in, three walks, and six runs scored. The sophomore swiped two bases in two attempts. Jess Mazur hit .385 on the weekend including six runs batted in on five hits including her go ahead homer in the win against South Florida.
