Georgia Southern softball returns home for a three-game Sun Belt Conference series against Georgia State at Beautiful Eagle Field. First pitch of game one is set for 6 p.m. and the series will conclude Sunday at 1 p.m.

Emma Davis continues to lead the Georgia Southern offense batting .363 with a team leading 29 hits. Davis has hit leadoff and started all 27 games in centerfield this season for the Eagles. The sophomore is third on the team in RBI and sits tied for second on the team with three doubles. Davis ranks fourth in the conference in stolen bases swiping 11 bags on the season. Faith Barth and Delanie Thames continue to stay hot at the plate as well.

LAST TIME OUT
The Eagles opened Sun Belt Conference play taking game one over Marshall in Huntington, West Virginia before dropping the final two games of the series to fall to 1-2 in conference play. Friday's win marked the first win over the Herd since 1997. Georgia Southern currently sits seventh in the conference with a 1-2 record alongside James Madison, Coastal Carolina, and Southern Miss.

The Eagles travelled to #5 Georgia for a midweek contest dropping the game 17-1. Emma Davis, Katie Perkins, and Makayla Brantley each recorded a hit in the game and Faith Barth used an RBI-sacrifice fly to plate Brantley for the Eagle run.

Georgia State comes into the series with an 8-19 overall record and 0-3 conference record. The Panthers fell in all three games at home against Appalachian State before dropping a midweek contest against Mercer, 16-4. Offensively, Chloe Nadler leads the team posting a .339 batting average including 19 hits and 10 runs batted in. In the circle, Sydney Boulware (4-9) has thrown the bulk of the innings (86.1) with a 4.62 ERA. Georgia State currently sits tied with South Alabama in last place in Sun Belt Conference standing.
