Five Eagles Earn CSC Women's Soccer Academic All-District Honors

Senior Smith Cathey advances to national balloting for possible Academic All-America honors
STATESBORO - Georgia Southern placed five student-athletes on the 2024 Women's Soccer Academic All-District Team, as announced by College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) this afternoon.
The five Eagles named to the squad are: senior midfielder Smith Cathey (3.87, Marketing); senior midfielder Ansleigh Crenshaw (3.56, Psychology); junior midfielder Carley Borgelt (3.87, Marketing); redshirt junior Kyleigh Drew (3.55, Exercise Science) and redshirt junior Ellie McIntyre (4.00, Exercise Science).
This is the second career honor for Cathey and Borgelt, while Crenshaw, Drew and McIntyre earn the honor for the first time in their careers.
Due to new criteria enacted by the organization, Cathey will advance to national balloting from the College Sports Communicators membership for possible Academic All-America honors. The 2024 Women's Soccer Academic All-American teams will be announced on Wednesday, December 21, at Noon.
