Head coach Hana Haden announces pair of freshman from Georgia will join the Eagles next year
STATESBORO - Georgia Southern head women's basketball coach Hana Haden has announced the signing of a pair of freshmen from the state of Georgia to grants in aid to play for the Eagles in the upcoming 2025-26 campaign.
Joining the Eagles this upcoming season will be 6-0 forward Kayla Cleaveland (Woodstock, Ga. / River Ridge HS) and 6-0 forward McKayla Hosley (Columbus, Ga. / Pacelli HS).
"We are incredibly excited about being able to keep these two talented and high character young women at home in Georgia," Coach Haden said. "They are both decorated multi-sport athletes who bring great size, versatility, and winning pedigrees to our program."

River Ridge HS
Region 6A Player of the Year and All-State honoree for River Ridge HS in Woodstock … Averaged 13.9 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.5 assist and 1.2 steals per game as a junior in 2023-24 … Also earned All-State honors as a sophomore, leading River Ridge HS to a state championship in 2022-23 … Competed in volleyball, tennis and lacrosse for the Knights … Also plays club for the Southeast All-Stars … Mother, Jill, played tennis collegiately for Auburn.
McKayla Hosley

Columbus, Ga.
St. Anne Pacelli HS
Helped lead St. Anne Pacelli HS to a state championship in 2023-24 … Player of the Year for the Vikings, averaging 15.7 points, 2.3 steals, 3.0 blocks and 2.5 assists per game as a junior … Also competed in flag football, helping the Vikings to a state championship … Plays club for Porter Sports … Father, Ernest Hosley III, played basketball collegiately at Navy.
