Georgia Southern opens the 2023-24 season making its first appearance at the Boilermaker Classic in West Lafayette, Ind.

Newcomers Louise Reau and Emma von Hoffmann make their Georgia Southern debuts joining veterans Abby Newton, Haley Yerxa, and Alex Stevenson in the Georgia Southern lineup. 

Two-time first team all-conference honoree Newton competed in all eleven tournaments earning her first collegiate win at Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate to lead the Eagles. Yerxa was named Sun Belt Newcomer of the Year last season and second team all-conference, playing in ten tournaments. 

Newton makes her 31st start in the lineup, while Stevenson will be playing in the lineup for the 16th time, and Yerxa makes her 11th start for the Eagles. Reau and von Hoffmann make their first start in the lineup. 

The Eagles won three team tournaments last season and finished top-three in two additional team tournaments. Rounding out the season, the Eagles finished fourth at the Sun Belt Championship.

"Kampen is a great test, it's an amazing course. We have three returning players that are going to be in the lineup and two freshmen who also have great experience. Although they are freshmen, we are looking forward to them posting some numbers this weekend. It's going to be fun to watch."

The Eagles return to the course on Monday, Sept. 18 at the Leadership and Golf Invitational in Seattle, Wash.
