STATESBORO - Karlee Wells earned Second Team Scholar All-American honors from the CSCAA, the organization announced over the weekend. Wells becomes the first Eagle to receive the honor since 2016, when duo Mykala Arnold and Emma Weisel earned CSCAA Scholar All-American honors.

Trevor Sisson said. "She earned personal bests on both boards and put her name on the president's list to cap it all off!"
Wells earned the honor after posted a perfect 4.0 GPA in the classroom during the spring semester. In swim events, she lead the Eagles in 1-meter and 3-meter events, and qualified for NCAA Zones competition. At the CCSA Championships, Wells posted a personal-best of 279.10 in the 3M, which is a top-five score in school history. In the same meet, she posted a season-best of 272.45 in the 1M.
To be named to the First-Team Scholar All-America, student-athletes must achieve a minimum GPA of 3.50 and participate in their respective national championship. Second-Team selections also earned a GPA of 3.50 or higher and met the "B" time standard for the national championship or participated in a diving zone qualification meet. Nearly 47% of the swimming & diving student-athletes honored are receiving a degree in a STEM related field. Top majors, in order, included Business, Biology, Psychology, Economics, Exercise Science and Mechanical Engineering. Below is a breakdown of the number of students recognized in each division:

Division I: 1,201 students were recognized - 721 women and 480 men.

NAIA: 139Â students were recognized - 72 women and 67Â men.

NJCAA: 33 students were recognized - 18 women and 15 men.
