NEW ORLEANS, La. - Sophomore southpaw Mitchell Gross has been named the Sun Belt Conference Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Gross made his presence known on the mound in just his second start of the season, pitching for a career-high seven scoreless innings with eight strikeouts to go along with it, also a career-high ... Gross only gave up four hits, all of which were in different innings, so give the Eagles its second quality start this season and to take the win in a series-clinching game against Marshall ... Gross only allowed opposing batters to hit .160 off of him this week and earned his second win of the season.

The Eagles will be back in action on Wednesday, April 26, against the College of Charleston Cougars. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. at J.I. Clements Stadium.
