STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern baseball team dropped a 10-2 decision to the ETSU Buccaneers on Sunday afternoon at J.I. Clements Stadium, 10-2. The game drops the Eagles to 4-3 overall, while ETSU improves to 3-4 on the young season.
ETSUÂ got on the board first with a RBI-single to right-center field in the top of the second inning, and added to the lead in the top of the third inning from a passed ball and another RBI-single, going up 3-0 before the Eagles responded. Noah Ledford single through the right side brought home
Jarrett Brown, getting the Eagles on the board. In the bottom of the fifth inning, Brown knocked a sac fly to center field to bring home
J.C. Peacher, closing the gap at 3-2.
ETSU separated from the Eagles in the top of the seventh inning when seven runs were plated by the Buccaneers, highlighted by a two-RBI double to start the scoring. After the inning, ETSU led 10-2 and never surrended another run.
Zachary Harris took the loss with six hits and three runs, one earned, in 3.1 IP. Harris also struck out two in his time on the mound.
