Terren Ward Earns Mid-Major Madness Player of the Week Honors

Senior recorded a pair of double-doubles last week, honored by site for first time in career
STATESBORO - Georgia Southern senior guard/forward Terren Ward has been named the Mid-Major Player of the Week by Mid-Major Madness (https://www.midmajormadness.com/), announced today by the website.
Ward delivered a pair of double-doubles in last week's perfect 2-0 week for the Eagles, notching 26 points and 12 rebounds in the Eagles' 111-67 win at Chicago State on Dec. 11, then following that up with 25 points and 14 rebounds on Dec. 14 in an 81-59 Kids Day Game win over Charleston Southern at Hanner Fieldhouse. The Jesup, Ga., native added her seventh straight double-double on Tuesday at Enmarket Arena against Hampton, delivering 24 points and 10 rebounds to now tie for the nation's lead in double-doubles this season with nine. She is the first Georgia Southern player with seven straight double-doubles since GS Hall of Famer Phylette Blake had seven straight from Dec. 3, 1988 through Jan. 9, 1989.
The Mid-Major Madness website is a part of the SBNation network covering both men's and women's basketball mid-major Division I programs. The weekly honor is the third this season as she also earned Sun Belt Player of the Week honors from the conference on November 14 and November 28. She has earned Sun Belt Player of the Week honors six times in her career.
Ward and the Eagles are in action on Friday, visiting Longwood in a 1 p.m. contest for the final non-conference contest of the season.
