Georgia Southern Softball Announces 2024 Schedule

The Eagles host three tournaments during the season and travel to P5 opponents

STATESBORO – Georgia Southern Head Softball Coach Sharon Perkins announced the 2024 Softball Spring Schedule Monday afternoon. The team will host a trio of tournaments at Eagle Field and travel to several P5 opponents during the season. 

To open the season the Eagles host the Bash in the Boro on February 9-11. The field includes UMass, Merrimack College, and Radford. The second home tournament will feature Purdue-Fort Wayne and Presbyterian College on February 23-25. The Hail Southern Classic wraps up the Eagles home tournaments which will be played March 8-10 against Buffalo, Manhattan, and Winthrop. 

Sandwiched between its three home tournaments, the Eagles will be on the road for two tournaments hosted by Florida and South Florida. The opening weekend of action will see Georgia Southern at Florida on February 16-18, with a field that also features Loyola and College of Charleston. The Eagles will also travel to South Florida taking on the Bulls, Louisville, Villanova, Florida Gulf Coast, and Central Michigan. 

The rest of the Eagles' non-conference slate consists of two home midweek games against College of Charleston (March 13) and Jacksonville (April 3), along with road midweek games against Georgia (March 20), Mercer (April 17), and College of Charleston (April 24). 

Sun Belt Conference play opens on March 15-17 as the Eagles travel to West Virginia to take on Marshall before hosting back-to-back series against Georgia State (March 22-24) and Coastal Carolina (March 28-30). The Eagles travel to ULM on April 5-7 and visit South Alabama on April 12-14 before returning home to host Troy (April 19-21). Georgia Southern hosts one final conference series against James Madison on April 26-28 before wrapping up conference play on the road against Appalachian State May 2-4. 

The Sun Belt Conference Championship will take place May 8-11 at Bobcat Softball Stadium in San Marcos, Texas.
