Heinrichs, Timm Earn First-Team All-Sun Belt Women's Soccer Honors

Eagles place two on the first team for a third consecutive season

STATESBORO - Georgia Southern women's soccer seniors Sade Heinrichs and Simone Timm have each been named to the 2023 Sun Belt All-Conference first team, announced today by league officials on the eve of the Sun Belt tournament. It's the third straight year that the Eagles have had two first team All-Conference honorees.

Heinrichs becomes the first Georgia Southern women's soccer player to earn All-Sun Belt Conference honors three times in her career, and the first Eagle to earn three All-Conference honors since Nora El-Shami earned two All-Sun Belt and one All-SoCon honors from 2013-15. The Moenchengladbach, Germany, native earned one of the first team spots at defender for a second straight season. She started all 17 matches this season, missing only 14 minutes of action, while setting new career highs with three goals and seven points. She delivered the game-winning goal in the Eagles' 1-0 victory at Montana on September 10.

Timm, meanwhile, earns her first career All-Conference honor, taking one of the forward spots on the All-Sun Belt first team. The Toronto, Ontario, native tallied eight goals and five assists for 21 points in 2023, notching a goal in five straight matches from October 5-19, the first Eagle to do so since 1998. Her four game-winning goals in Sun Belt play leads the conference and she has notched at least one point in 12 of the Eagles' 17 matches this season.

Georgia Southern begins action in the 2023 Sun Belt Conference Championships on Wednesday as the No. 3 seed, taking on No. 6 seed ULM at Noon at the Foley Sports Tourism Complex in Foley, Ala.
