NEW ORLEANS, La. - Georgia Southern's
Zuri Clavo was named Sun Belt Swimmer of the Week, the conference announced on Thursday morning. The honor marks the second weekly honor from the Sun Belt in as many weeks for Georgia Southern.
Clavo earned the honor after winning two events outright for the Eagles in a meet against North Florida on Oct. 14, a meet that saw the Eagles take seven of the 14 events available. Clavo took first in the 1000 Free (10:31.54) and the 500 Free (5:07.14) to clinch those events for Georgia Southern. Both of these times were within ten seconds of her career bests.
Clavo earns the Sun Belt Swimmer of the Week honor one year and one day after her previous weekly honor. She was named CCSA Swimmer of the Week for the week of Oct. 18.
The Eagles will be back in action on Nov. 3 - 4 in the Emory Invitational in Atlanta, Ga. The field and events will be announced at a later date.
