STATESBORO – Building off the success of last year's Atlanta Career Networking Tour, the Georgia Southern APEX program will sponsor a Savannah Career Networking Tour for 20 student-athletes Nov. 3-5.
The group will travel to Savannah for a two-night stay, participate in a networking dinner, visit the Savannah Chamber of Commerce and tour the Savannah Port Authority and historic downtown Savannah.
"The Savannah Career Tour will enhance the APEX program's commitment to the holistic growth of all Georgia Southern student-athletes by providing real-world experiences to better prepare them for life after sport," said
Gleen Hart, Senior Associate Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Development. "We are very excited  to offer this opportunity and connect our student athletes with business professionals in the great city of Savannah."
To qualify for the trip, student-athletes must have completed 30 credit hours, be in good academic standing with the University, complete an
online application and essay and obtain a coach nomination. The application deadline is Oct. 3. Â
APEX sponsored an Atlanta Career Tour last spring where student-athletes traveled to Atlanta for a two-night stay, attended an Atlanta Braves' baseball game, participated in a networking dinner and toured Mercedes Benz Stadium, the Home Depot Corporate Office and the Civil Rights Museum.Â
