STATESBORO – 18 Georgia Southern baseball players have kept busy after the conclusion of the baseball season by playing in various summer baseball leagues around the country. For the rest of the week, we will be checking in on our players and seeing how they are performing over the summer. For today, we will be looking at outfielder
J.C. Peacher, utility player
JP Tighe, and RHP
Ga'von Wray out of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League.
Three Eagles play for two different squads in the PCCBL. Peacher is a member of the Auburn Doubledays in Auburn, New York, while Tighe and Wray are members of the Saugerties Stallions in Saugerties, New York.
J.C. PEACHER
Peacher has played in 25 games for the Auburn Doubledays so far this season, posting a .361 batting average. Peacher has 30 hits with three doubles, a triple, 17 runs scored and 15 RBI with six walks and five stolen bases for a .413 on-base percentage so far. One of his best outings this season was a 10-4 win on July 20 game against the Oneonta Outlaws, where he had a 5-for-5 night with two runs, an RBI, a walk, and a stolen base.
JP TIGHE
Tighe has been used as a utility player in six games with the Saugerties Stallions, playing as catcher and as an extra hitter (EH). Tighe so far has posted a .222 batting average with four hits, three doubles, four runs, seven RBI, and five walks for a .417 on-base percentage. His best performance in his six games was from a 13-3 win over Glens Falls on July 16, where Tighe went 2-for-4 with two doubles, three RBI, a run and a walk, to bring his OPS to a season-high of 1.017.
GA'VON WRAY
Wray has appeared in five games for the Saugerties Stallions so far this season, starting two of those contests. He has posted a 1.76 ERA in 15.1 solid innings, striking out 18 and only walking five. His strongest performance of the season was a July 8 game against the Boonville Baseball Club, where Wray pitched for 3.1 relief innings to close out the game, sitting down six opposing batters and only allowing a single hit.
