STATESBORO – Georgia Southern opens the outdoor season by hosting the GATA Classic Friday and Saturday at Eagle Field.
The event is open to the public and admission is free. There will be designated seating areas in the main bleachers to watch the track events, and seating near the throw events will have limited capacity. Fans are asked to remain in the designated seating areas and not walk across the track to see the remaining jumping events. Spectators are able to park in front of the soccer stadium in the first few rows. The meet is scheduled to begin with the field events Friday at 2 p.m. and resumes Saturday at 11 a.m.Â
Georgia Southern will welcome in Husson Jacksonville, Mercer, USC Beaufort and Wesleyan.
