STATESBORO – Theo Akwuba tallied 21 points, 10 rebounds, five blocked shots and two steals to lead Louisiana to an 82-69 Sun Belt men's basketball win over Georgia Southern Wednesday evening in Hanner Fieldhouse.

Elijah McCadden led the Eagles (11-15, 4-11) with 16 points, eight rebounds and four assists, and Cam Bryant collected 14 points, four rebounds and two assists. Gedi Juozapaitis scored 14.

Key Moments
Louisiana (13-13, 8-8) led by four midway through the second half before using an 18-4 run to take control of the contest. Kentrell Garnett hit consecutive triples for the Ragin' Cajuns, and Kobe Julien scored eight points, capping the spurt with a 3-pointer from the corner for a 73-55 cushion with 3:21 remaining. The Cajuns made 6 of 9 from the floor during the run, including 4 for 4 from long distance.
