STATESBORO – Justin Roberts scored 14 points, including five in an 18-4 second-half run that sparked Georgia State to a 58-49 Sun Belt men's basketball win over Georgia Southern Saturday afternoon in Hanner Fieldhouse.

Andrei Savrasov led the Eagles with 21 points, one off his career high, on 8 for 13 shooting from the floor and 4 of 6 from long distance.

State (13-10, 7-5) trailed by 12 early in the second half but used an 18-4 run to open a 50-46 advantage with 5:41 left in the game.
Kaden Archie put in a pair of free throws on Southern's next trip down the floor, but Kane Williams answered with a triple from the wing to push the lead back to five. The teams traded free throws, leaving the margin at five, and the Eagles were able to get two consecutive defensive stops but committed turnovers at the other end.
The Eagles (11-14, 4-10), who led for 26 minutes of the contest, bridged a 13-4 run over the halftime break and opened up a 39-27 cushion on a
Cam Bryant triple 3:52 into the second period. It was the third consecutive 3-pointer for Southern as Savrasov and
Gedi Juozapaitis also connected from long distance.
