• Saturday's game is Senior Day, and the Eagles will honor and acknowledge seniors Baylor Bumford, Meredith Eckard, Emily Jarome, Abby Strong and Grace Underwood prior to the contest.

• Georgia Southern is in fifth place in the Sun Belt East Division and Troy is in second place in the West Division.

• The Eagles suffered a pair of 3-2 setbacks at Appalachian State last weekend, while Troy suffered two 3-1 losses to Texas State.

• The Trojans have won nine of their last 11, while the Eagles have lost their last four.

• The Eagles lead the all-time series against Troy, which began in 1989, 15-7, and GS is 9-2 against the Trojans in Hanner Fieldhouse.

• GS is 7-3 in Hanner Fieldhouse this season, while Troy is 4-5 on the road.

• Georgia Southern ranks 42nd in the country in opponents' hitting percentage (.172) and 16th in aces (1.87), and the Eagles rank first in the Sun Belt in both categories. GS ranks second in the league in digs (15.49/set).

• Ashlyn Lovett ranks 13th in the nation and leads the Sun Belt in aces (0.52/set). The sophomore is second in the Sun Belt in digs (4.35/set), while Jarome is sixth in the Sun Belt in kills (3.78/set).

• Bumford collected her 300th career block at Appalachian State Nov. 5, and Lovett notched her 500th career dig at the Tussle in the Triad Sept. 2.

• The Eagles' roster has been bolstered by three transfers who are making an impact this season. Jarome was a three-time All-CAA selection at Towson and led the Tigers to three CAA Tournament Championships and subsequent NCAA Tournament appearances. Jarome's Eagle debut was her 100th career match, and she has 1,347 career kills, 949 digs, 211 blocks and 103 aces. Underwood, Jarome's club teammate on East Coast Power,  transferred from Delaware and has 310 career kills and 205 blocks. Callaway Cason transferred from Ole Miss and ranks sixth in the Sun Belt in assists (9.58/set). Bumford is also a transfer, having come to Georgia Southern from UNCW prior to the 2019 season.

• The Eagles had two home contests vs. Old Dominion canceled due to travel concerns caused by Hurricane Ian.

• Next up for the Eagles is the Sun Belt Championship in Foley, Alabama, which begins Nov. 16.
