Moore Wins Long Jump, Posey Posts Second Highest Pole Vault in School History

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Imani Moore took home first place in the Women's Long Jump, while Kellyn Posey posted the second highest Pole Vault in school history on Saturday at the Gamecock Indoor Opener.
 
Imani Moore had herself a day, winning the Long Jump event with a distance of 5.62m. She followed up that success with a second-place finish in the Triple Jump, posting a distance of 11.48m. Samantha Holbrook placed sixth in the Weight Throw rounding out the field events.
 
Nichole Harris placed fifth in the 800m, posting a time of 2:18.14. Isabel Ptacek finished ninth in the same event on Saturday. Scovia Ayikoru placed 11th in the 200m Dash, while Hannah Wise finished 13th in the Mile.

Quoting Coach Carter:
"We had a very good start to the season. With this being the first meet of the year it was good to go out a run against different competition. We had some good performances by Imani and Kellyn which will set us up great for the rest of the year."

The Eagles are set to complete in Lynchburg, Va. at the Liberty Elite Invitational.
