• Georgia Southern travels to Birmingham, Alabama, for the Blazer Invitational this weekend. The Eagles play host UAB Friday at 8 p.m. ET and take on Kennesaw State Saturday at 3 p.m.
• Georgia Southern won the Bash in the Boro in Hanner Fieldhouse last weekend and at 3-0, the Eagles are off to their best start since 2013.
Hannah McGlockton averaged 3.90Â kills per set in the tournament and was named the MVP.Â

• UAB went 0-2 at Troy's tournament, falling 3-0 to Ole Miss and Troy. Kennesaw State went 1-2 at the C of C Invitational. The Owls defeated Indiana State 3-1, but fell 3-2 to Montana and 3-1 to the host Cougars.
• Georgia Southern trails the all-time series 3-0 vs. UAB and is 0-1 on the road. The Eagles are 2-1 against Kennesaw State and 1-1 on a neutral floor. GS last played UAB in 2005 and last faced Kennesaw State in 2015.
• The Eagles rank 15th in the country and first in the Sun Belt in kills per set (14.90).
• McGlockton ranks second in the Sun Belt in kills per set, and Slader ranks 21st in the country and first in the Sun Belt in assists per set (11.10).
