CONWAY, S.C. - Georgia Southern men's tennis fell to Coastal Carolina 4-1 on Sunday in their first conference match of the season. The Eagles fall to 8-6 on the year, while the Chanticleers improve to 5-2 on the season.
Coastal Carolina jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in doubles play winning on courts one and two. The match on court three would be suspended after the clinching point occurred. In singles play the Chants would take courts one, two and six to clinch the match, but not before Alexandros Roumpis defeated Daiki Tanabe 6-2, 6-4 in straight sets to give the Eagles their lone point.
Georgia Southern will be back in action on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m., as they host South Carolina State at the Wallis Tennis Center.
