STATESBORO – Elijah McCadden tallied 18 points and nine rebounds and hit the go-ahead bucket late in the game to lead Georgia Southern to a 65-57 Sun Belt Conference men's basketball win over Appalachian State on Senior Day Saturday afternoon in Hanner Fieldhouse.
Trailing by two points following an Adrian Delph layup with 4:26 remaining, the Eagles (13-12, 7-9) finished their final game of the regular season with a 12-2 run, which included three consecutive 3-pointers.
Kamari Brown made the first one with 3:11 to play, and McCadden's broke a 57-57 tie with 2:13 to go. GS got two straight stops on defense, and senior
Zack Bryant put the Eagles ahead 63-57 with a third triple with 52.7 seconds left.
Delph missed a contested 3-pointer from the wing for Appalachian State (13-11, 7-8), and McCadden sealed the win with a pair of free throws with 37.7 seconds on the clock. GS held the Mountaineers to 39 percent shooting in the game, including 6 of 29 from long distance.

McCadden was 7 for 8 from the field and also collected an assist and a steal, and Bryant finished with 12 points and a team-high four assists.
Gedi Juozapaitis posted 16 points, five boards, three assists and a blocked shot. Brown finished with seven points, five boards and three assists.
