BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Elijah McCadden collected 17 points, eight rebounds and three assists, and Campbell's last-second, 3-point try to tie the game fell short as the Georgia Southern men's basketball team prevailed, 69-66, over the Camels Wednesday night in Gore Arena.

The Eagles (6-4) led 69-61 following a McCadden free throw with 28.4 seconds to play. Campbell's Messiah Thompson hit a 3-pointer, the Camels forced a turnover and Jesus Carralero, who led Campbell with 16 points, scored a layup to make the margin 69-66 with 7.5 seconds remaining. The Eagles inbounded to Kamari Brown, who was triple teamed but not fouled, and the ball squirted loose to Austin McCullough, whose 3-point try as the buzzer sounded came up short of the rim.

Eagles of the Game
McCadden was 6 of 9 from the floor and also tallied a steal and a blocked shot, and Kamari Brown finished with 16 points on 6 of 12 shooting with four rebounds. Tre Cobbs totaled 10 points, four rebounds and three steals.

Key Moments
Georgia Southern held Campbell (7-3) without a field goal for a stretch of 5:48 late in the second half and scored 11 straight points to open a 63-53 lead on a pair of Cobbs free throws with 1:38 to go. The Eagles held the Camels to 0 for 6 with two turnovers during the stretch. Campbell hit three triples and scored 13 points inside the final 1:28 but the Eagles made 6 of 10 from the charity stripe to keep the Camels at bay.

Stats and Notes
- It was the Eagles' first win at Campbell since 1985.
- Campbell entered the game ranked 16th in the country in scoring defense (58.8), and 69 points is the most the Camels have allowed this season.
- The Eagles outrebounded Campbell 36-31.
