BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Elijah McCadden collected 17 points, eight rebounds and three assists, and Campbell's last-second, 3-point try to tie the game fell short as the Georgia Southern men's basketball team prevailed, 69-66, over the Camels Wednesday night in Gore Arena.
The Eagles (6-4) led 69-61 following a McCadden free throw with 28.4 seconds to play. Campbell's Messiah Thompson hit a 3-pointer, the Camels forced a turnover and Jesus Carralero, who led Campbell with 16 points, scored a layup to make the margin 69-66 with 7.5 seconds remaining. The Eagles inbounded to Kamari Brown, who was triple teamed but not fouled, and the ball squirted loose to Austin McCullough, whose 3-point try as the buzzer sounded came up short of the rim.

McCadden was 6 of 9 from the floor and also tallied a steal and a blocked shot, and Kamari Brown finished with 16 points on 6 of 12 shooting with four rebounds. Tre Cobbs totaled 10 points, four rebounds and three steals.
