GAME PREVIEW: Georgia Southern Set to Open 2020 Campaign

Eagles and Fighting Camels to battle in Paulson

The Georgia Southern football team kicks off its 2020 season this Saturday when it hosts Campbell in a non-conference game at Allen E. Paulson Stadium. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. and will be broadcast nationally on ESPNU. The game will also be available via radio on the Georgia Southern Sports Network. Here's all you need to know about the game:

  • 9: Senior quarterback Shai Werts needs nine rushing yards to pass former Eagle signal caller Kevin Ellison and move into third place on the Sun Belt's career rushing list for quarterbacks. Werts has 2,370 career rushing yards and needs 474 yards to set a new conference record.
  • 8: Over the past two seasons, Georgia Southern has committed an FBS-low 16 turnovers, eight fewer than the next lowest total (Oregon State; 24).
