Georgia Southern student-athletes honored for work in the classroom
Each month, the Georgia Southern Student-Athlete Services Department hands out its Student-Athlete of the Month, presented by Georgia Army National Guard, which recognizes students who are working just as hard in the classroom as they are on the field of competition. The male winner for the month of April is Mason McWhorter of the baseball team. Let's get to know Mason!

What is the best way for you to balance your academic and athletic lifestyle?
The best way for me to balance my academic and athletic lifestyle is staying on top of my school work and not waiting till the last minute.
Why did you choose Georgia Southern University to further your Education?
I chose GS to further my education because I liked the campus, I felt like it was a perfect fit for me academically and socially.
What are your career aspirations?
My career aspirations are to get my masters in Sports Management and pursue a career that I can enjoy in the sport industry.
When it comes to striving to do your best in the classroom, who is the biggest motivator in your life?
My biggest motivator in my life right now would be my team, I want to be a good leader to them and make my coaches proud.
What are your pre game/competition rituals if you have any?
My pregame ritual would be when I am putting on my games socks I always put the left one on first.
