STATESBORO – The Georgia Southern women's tennis team lost a close 3-4 contest to College of Charleston Saturday before rebounding to dominate UNC-Wilmington and Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College both by a score of 7-0 Sunday.
The Eagles (8-4) fell just short of the Cougars (9-5) 3-4 on Saturday but bounced back with a dominant showing against UNC-Wilmington (3-7) and ABAC Sunday with 7-0 wins against both the Seahawks and Golden Stallions (2-3).
What head coach Sean McCaffrey said:
"I feel like we had a really good weekend on the court. We played very well in places against Charleston. Just a few shots here and there and we would have won the match. We are certainly getting stronger and more confident in our games. It showed today with our wins over UNC Wilmington and ABAC. I'm happy that we are gaining our confidence right before the start of conference play."
