STATESBORO – The Georgia Southern men's tennis team will host a pair of matches Friday before opening conference play Sunday at the Wallis Tennis Center.
The team faces Youngstown State for the first time in 33 years Friday at 10:00 a.m. before taking on Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College at 2:30 p.m. Sun Belt Conference action begins Sunday at 1:30 p.m. against Troy.
Last time out:
The Eagles (9-9) got back in the win category after defeating Winthrop 5-2 on the road March 8.
Murphy McCullough,
Pascal Wagemaker,
Alexandros Roumpis,
Valentin Dun and
Jonathan Morales all got singles wins in the match to clinch it.
Diego Finkelstein is currently in a tie for No. 2 in total career singles wins in Georgia Southern history with 73.
Youngstown State Series History:
The Eagles lead 1-0 after winning the only meeting 9-0 during the 1987 season where Georgia Southern finished 20-3 overall.

The Penguins (3-6) got started the season 3-0 with wins over St. Bonaventure, Binghamton and Saint Francis before losing six straight.
ABAC Series History:
The Eagles are a perfect 14-0 in a series that dates back to 1976. In 2018, GS took a 4-1 victory in the most recent meeting.
