STATESBORO – Adrian Delph scored a game-high 21 points, and Appalachian State outscored Georgia Southern 21-7 in the final 7:41 of the contest to post a 62-57 Sun Belt men's basketball victory over the Eagles Saturday afternoon in Hanner Fieldhouse.

Quan Jackson tallied 17 points and four steals, Elijah McCadden scored 11 and Isaiah Crawley collected 12 points and six rebounds. Simeon Carter finished with a career-high 10 rebounds to go along with six points.

Key Moments
Appalachian State faced a 10-point deficit with 8:09 to play but the Mountaineers (15-12, 9-7) fought back as the Eagles missed their next three shots, and Hunter Seacat's layup made the score 50-48 with 4:43 remaining.

With the score tied 54-54, O'Showen Williams hit a 3-pointer from the corner, and after a couple of empty possessions by both teams, he drove to the basket for a layup to give the Mountaineers a 59-54 lead with 28.7 seconds left. Crawley was fouled going for a rebound on the Eagles' trip down the floor and made 1 of 2 from the charity stripe to trim the margin to four. The Eagles were forced to foul, and App made 3 of 4 from the line to seal the win.

GS (16-11, 10-6) used a 15-2 run open 21-9 lead midway through the first half as Jackson scored seven of his first-half 11 points. Appalachian State answered by scoring 10 in a row and cut the margin to 21-19 on an Isaac Johnson 3-point play with 6:52 left in the frame.

The Eagles' 13-4 run built a 10-point advantage as a Jackson fastbreak layup with 8:09 remaining made the score 48-38. GS held App to 1 of 6 from the field and forced three turnovers during the stretch.
