STATESBORO, Ga. - Georgia Southern swimming and diving announced their four meet season on Monday. The Eagles will host three meets at home this spring and will open up the 2020-21 season on Saturday October 31st against Campbell.
"Our program is excited for the opportunity to compete this season," Head coach Amanda Caldwell said. "We really appreciate the support we have gotten from our fellow Coastal Collegiate Sports Association schools and from our department as we pieced this schedule together. Special thanks to everyone in athletics helping to get things going this season, in particular Brandy Clouse and Jared Benko."
Following a meet with Campbell in Buies Creek, North Carolina this weekend, the Eagles will travel to Fort Myers, Florida for a Dual Meet against Florida Gulf Coast and Florida International. The meet will run from November 19th through the 21st.
"To end up with five competitions starting at the end of October before we got to our CCSA Conference Championship meet is a blessing. Almost all of our competitions are with conference teams, with the exception of a modified mid-season meet in November with conference school FGCU and C-USA FIU. That meet in Florida will have a lot of opportunities for our women to compete against two schools at the top of their conferences. Our women are excited to get the season started on Halloween against Campbell up in Buies Creek."
When the calendar year rolls over to 2021 the Eagles will close out their regular season with three home meets. On January 9th the Eagles will host UNF for the first of two in Statesboro. On January 16th and 17th, Georgia Southern will welcome UNC-Asheville to the pool for a two-day meet. They close out the 2020-21 regular season with a meet against UNF in Statesboro.
