STATESBORO, Ga - Appalachian State defeated the Georgia Southern women's tennis team 4-1 on Friday morning in Boone, North Carolina at the Deer Valley Racquet Club in the first match of the Eagles weekend Carolinas trip.
Paula Boixader came out strong and took the first set of her singles match 6-2 against Jose Maria Zacarias on court three. Zacarias was no match for Boixader and the junior took the match, 6-2, 6-4. Boixader earned the Eagles lone point of the match with her win over Zacarias.
The Mountaineers earned the doubles point early on and took a 1-0 lead over the Eagles before heading into singles. The Mountaineers won the other five singles matches to take the win over the Eagles in Boone.
