STATESBORO, Ga. - The Georgia Southern Men's Tennis team sent the Appalachian State Mountaineer's home with a loss on Friday after a week match delay due to rain. The Eagles defeated App State 4-0 in Wallis Tennis Center.
The Eagles had an extra week to prepare to defeat the Mountaineers and they did just that on Friday. The Eagles took the doubles point early on taking the lead over App State before heading to singles. The Eagles followed through with singles winning the other three points to take the match, 4-0.
Diego Finkelstein defeated Afonso Viana, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 4 singles.
Santiago Suarez took down Blake Carter at No. 6 singles, 6-2, 6-3. Finishing out the match at No. 3 singles,
Murphy McCullough took his match over Ben Webster, 7-5, 6-2. The Eagles are back in action on Saturday, April 13th at Wallis Tennis Center for their senior day match to finish the regular season.
