Freshman Earns Sixth Straight Win For Eagles

Eagles fall to UCONN at home

STATESBORO, Ga - Georgia Southern Women's Tennis was back home today to face UCONN after their trip to Lousiana last week. The Eagles had momentum but were unable to take the win over the Huskies. The Blue and White fell, 3-4, in Wallis Tennis Center.

Although the Eagles didn't come away with a win, there are still things to be celebrated. Freshman Luisa Hrda earned her sixth straight win of the season against Cassie Chung at number 4 singles. Hrda knew what had to be done to take her match over Chung and never lost momentum. The freshman from Germany won her match, 2-6, 6-2, 7-5. Hrda moved to 10-2 on the 2019 season for the Eagles.

Paula Boixader defeated UCONN's Julieanne Bou at number 2 singles, 4-6, 7-5, 7-6. Mila Hartig took down Mireille Moreau, 7-6, 3-6, 6-0, at number 3 singles today at home. The Eagles are on the road in Atlanta on Thursday to face rival Georgia State. The match against the Panthers will start at 10:30 AM.
