GS plays its second tournament of the spring by making its first appearance in the Colleton River Collegiate.

The Eagles have finished in the top-6 in 16 of their last 22 tournaments, dating back to the 2016-17 campaign. GS has won two tournaments this season and finished in the top-5 four times.

GS is coming off a 12th-place finish at the SunTrust Gator Invitational Feb. 17, in a field that featured seven teams in the top-50 and 12 individuals in the top-100. Steven Fisk tied for 12th to lead the Eagles.

Fisk is 10th in the latest Arnold Palmer Cup ranking. The top six golfers from the final ranking in the spring from both the United States and International men and women - 12 total golfers - will be among the 24 individuals selected to compete in the Arnold Palmer Cup. Longtime Arnold Palmer partner Rolex is continuing its 50 year relationship through its support of the matches which will be hosted by The Alotian Club June 7-9.  The teams will be unveiled live on Golf Channel's Golf Central on Wednesday, March 6, at the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by MasterCard. That makes this the last event for Fisk before the automatic spots are announced.

Fisk also has been named to the Ben Hogan Award Watch List for the second consecutive season.  The award is issued annually to the top men's NCAA Division I, II or III, NAIA or NJCAA college golfer taking into account all collegiate and amateur competitions during a 12-month period from June to May.

Fisk capped the fall season by winning medalist or co-medalist honors in four consecutive tournaments. It's a streak not seen in NCAA Division I golf since NC State's Matt Hill in 2009 and the first time any Eagle golfer has won four straight tournaments.

Fisk will be making his 41st career start for the Eagles, while Ben Carr makes his seventh straight start. Wilson Andress and Mason Williams will be in the lineup for the fifth time this season, and Brett Barron joins the lineup for the first time this season. Barron makes his 21st career start.

Following the quick trip to Bluffton, GS hosts its home tournament, the Schenkel Invitational, March 15-17, at Forest Heights Country Club. It's the 40th playing of the Schenkel, one of the most prestigious tournaments in college golf.
