McCadden Named Sun Belt Player of the Week

The Eagles play three games in the FGCU Classic this weekend.

NEW ORLEANS – The Sun Belt Conference announced today that Georgia Southern sophomore Elijah McCadden has been named the league's Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

McCadden made seven 3-pointers and scored a career-high 28 points to lead Georgia Southern to a 98-88 win over Mercer last Tuesday in the Eagles' only action of the week. He made 8 of 14 from the field and 7 of 12 from long distance and added four rebounds, two steals, a block and an assist in the victory.

McCadden leads the Eagles in scoring this season at 16.2 points a game and is averaging 4.6 rebounds and shooting 52 percent from the field, 47 percent from long distance and 91 percent from the free-throw line.

Georgia Southern plays three contests in the Hilton Garden Inn FGCU Classic after Thanksgiving. The stretch starts with a meeting against Campbell Nov. 29 at 4:30 p.m. in Alico Arena. GS also takes on North Dakota Saturday at 4:30 p.m. and host Florida Gulf Coast Sunday at 5 p.m.
