
Baseball Schedules Two Fall Games

Georgia Southern Plays at Home Oct. 25th Against Gordon State
STATESBORO – The Georgia Southern Baseball team is set to compete in a pair of fall games over the month of October featuring one road and one home contest at J.I. Clements Stadium.
The Eagles travel to the College of Charleston on Oct. 12 before hosting Gordon State College on Oct. 25. Fall games are open to the public and admission is free. The road game time is set for 2 p.m while the home matchup is slated for 4 p.m.
Georgia Southern finished the 2019 campaign with a 35-24, 18-12 SBC record that concluded in the Sun Belt title game where the Eagles fell short to Coastal Carolina 9-7.
CofC had a successful year this past season, going 36-21, 16-8 CAA and scored upset wins over No. 27 UCONN and No. 19 Coastal Carolina. The Eagles and Cougars met three times in 2019 with GS holding a 2-1 edge. Georgia Southern leads the all-time series 36-33. The fall matchup will not affect the overall series record. The teams are scheduled to meet twice in the regular season in 2020.
Gordon State, located in Barnesville, competes at the junior college level where they posted an incredible 50-9, 26-4 GCAA record in 2019 that culminated in a conference championship and an appearance in the NJCAA East Central District. Georgia Southern and Gordon State have never met in a regular-season game.
