Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women’s Soccer Wins 2-1 Over ULM on Senior Day

STATESBORO, Ga. – The Georgia Southern women's soccer team beat UL Monroe 2-1 on Sunday afternoon. 
 
Karin Winka scored the winning goal in the 84th minute off a free kick from Elsa Borjesson. This is Winka's second goal of the season.
 
ULM scored to tie the Eagles in the 69th minute off a shot from McKenzie Rizqi.
 
The first goal of the game was by the Eagles' own Frida Brattum in the 26th minute for her eighth goal of the season. She was assisted by Danu Coumbs. 
 
The Eagles took a total of 20 shots, the most by the team all season. Brattum and Nicole Aussin both has four shots each, Maddie Klintworth took three shots, Dani Coumbs had two and Brogan Boudreaux, Nora Falnes, Halle Huff, Kristin Sandider, Taylor Regensburger, Brooke Barrett and Karin Winka had one shot each. 
 
Defensively, goalkeeper Lauren Karinshak had six saves on ULM's nine shots.Sandifer, Elsa Borjesson, Claire Amici, and Regensburger also had strong defensive plays during the game.
 
This win puts the Eagles at six wins for the season, surpassing last year's win record.
 
The game also marked Senior Day for seven Georgia Southern Eagles. Nicole Aussin, Elsa Borjesson, Frida Brattum, Halle Huff, Courtney Johnson, Lauren Karinshak and Marcela Montoya were all honored at a ceremony prior to the game.

LOOKING AHEAD
