Track and Field Opens 2017 Outdoor Season in Savannah

Eagles travel to Savannah to open the 2017 outdoor season
STATESBORO, Ga. – Following a successful Indoor Track and Field season, the Eagles now shift their attention to the Outdoor season. The blue and white will head to Savannah, Georgia to compete in the Savannah State Outdoor meet. This will be the first test for the Eagles coming off of the Sun Belt Indoor Championships.
Following traveling to Savannah the Eagles will return home and begin preparation for the UNF Spring Break Invite on March 24th and 25th.
LAST TIME OUT
The Eagles traveled to the Birmingham Crossplex to compete in the Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships. The blue and white gained three spots in the standings since last season's meet. Bailey Willett placed third in the 800 meter event with a time of 2:12.76. Jamelia Owens placed sixth in the Shot Put event, breaking her previous school record of 14.69m. Her toss of 14.71 was good enough to give the Eagles three points and help her advance the school record for Shot Put. The Eagles 4x400 meter team gave the Eagles another two points behind Bailey Willett, Breanna Thornton, Ellunde Montgomery, and Desiree Blunt.
