ELON, N.C. - Georgia Southern got an outstanding pitching performance from
Chase Cohen to take the series finale over Elon, 5-1.
Jacob Greene hit his first collegiate home run to spark a three-run fifth inning which put the Eagles ahead for good. Next up is the opening of Sun Belt play next weekend as South Alabama comes to Statesboro for three games starting on Friday.
QUOTABLES
Head Coach Rodney Hennon
"We played pretty solid baseball today. We got good pitching from
Chase Cohen as week as
Zach Cowart and
Landon Hughes out of the bullpen. The defense was clean and we kind of grinded it out. Their pitcher was pretty good early, but we kept battling and strung together some at bats. It was a good team win and now we need to get some guys healed up, have a good week of practice, and get ready for a very good South Alabama team next weekend."
