This match wrapped up a tough set of preseason games for Georgia Southern, and the team will travel to UL Monroe on Thursday to begin Sun Belt play.

WHAT HEAD COACH BRIAN DUNLEAVY SAID
It was a dissapointing result to be honest, I thought we created a few chances early. We were right in front in the game the whole time, we just lacked the urgency in the final third. When you're playing the 14th ranked team in the country, you've got to have conviction to move forward. As good as South Florida is, with the attacking weapons they have, I thought we really held our own. We made life difficult for them and disrupted their tempo, but we needed more desire to finish, particularily given the number of set pieces we had. We learned a lot from today and had a very tough non-conference schedule. We showed we are capable of big things this year, and we are looking forward to the Sun Belt.
NEXT UP
Sun Belt play starts up next Thursday for the Eagles when they travel to UL Monroe on Sept. 15. GS will travel to South Alabama to face off against the Jaguars on Sept. 18.
