Statesboro, Ga. –  The Georgia Southern Swimming and Diving team, fresh off a third-place finish at the Coastal Carolina Swimming Association Conference Championship, is proving that they achieve at a high level in the classroom as well as in the pool.
The College Swimming Coaches Association of America has announced that Georgia Southern has earned the distinction of 2015 Spring CSCAA Scholar All-America Team. Â
"For the 15th consecutive semester, our women have demonstrated that they are committed to their academic success,"Â
said Georgia Southern coach Nate Kellogg. With our academic and athletic expectations, it's very important that our team continues to be exceptionally focused, hardworking and consistent in the pool and in the classroom. We are very proud of their efforts this semester."
The Spring Team Scholar All American award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams, which have achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher in the spring semester. The Eagles earned a cumulative GPA of 3.26

Elaina Lanson was named honorable mention Scholar All-America.
"It is a tremendous honor and accomplishment for Elaina to be named CSCAA Scholar All-America Honorable Mention," said Kellogg. "She has certainly earned it, and we are proud of her achievement."
The Scholar All-America selections were drawn from 284 colleges and universities. To be selected to the CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, swimmers and divers must have achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and have participated in their respective NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. Â Honorable Mention selections have similarly achieved a GPA of 3.50 and achieved a "B" time standard or competed at their respective qualifying meets.
