Mizell Reaches Final Round of Fan’s Choice Voting

OMAHA, Neb. – Georgia Southern baseball's Aaron Mizell reached the final round of voting for the 2015 TD Ameritrade College Home Run Derby Fan's Choice Award.
Mizell finished in the top four of the second round of voting and entered the final round in second place with 26 percent of the vote. Tim Caputo from Rhode Island leads all vote getters with 32 percent of the vote.
Fans can vote daily at www.fanschoiceaward.com. Voting ends on June 22 and the winner will be honored at the TD Ameritrade College Home Run Derby in Omaha on July 2. The derby will air live on ESPN at 8:30 p.m. ET.
Mizell led the Eagles with 12 home runs and posted a .292 batting average with 12 doubles, 40 RBI and a .539 slugging percentage in his senior season. He was drafted by the Houston Astros in the 32nd round of the MLB Amateur Draft earlier this month.
The annual award recognizes college baseball players for their inspiring accomplishments on and off the baseball field. Finalists must demonstrate leadership, commitment in all aspects of life, stay active in the community and dedicated in the classroom.
