The event was a part of the "Eagles in Transition" program, started in part by
Associate AD for Special Projects and Internal Operations Tracy Ham, who partnered with Student-Athlete Services and Georgia Southern University Career Services. "Eagles in Transition" strives to help student-athletes build skills necessary to compete in the job market once their playing days are over.
The Eagles in Transition program started in the fall semester with a resume workshop in October, which assisted 107 senior student-athletes with building, critiquing and evaluating a resume. A session with mock interviews took place in early February, and tonight's event was about business networking.
The program will expand next year to feature programs for all student-athletes and build upon the SOAR and Summer Success program which provides a good place for freshmen to start.
